A Message From the Candidate
Dear Fellow Democrats,
The Upper West Side community has too much heart and dignity to be underestimated or fooled. I, Ruben Dario Vargas, candidate for New York City Council, District 7, am here to tell you that I see the potential in every citizen of this district to better their community with their ideas and actions, as no one knows what the people need more than the people themselves. A brighter day for any community is one where every person matters and problems are not put aside but rather foreseen and prevented. One where the elected officials are full of trust and compassion. I’m a helper with an open mind ready to be the voice for those who have been silenced for so long. Rather than to be in search of the American Dream, I , Ruben Dario Vargas, came to this country to serve in ways that show my desire to correct the wrong, and make better the worse. I, Ruben Dario Vargas, have been in the military for 24 years, but I feel the time for me to serve a community, with so much promise for change, has finally come.

The best tool in bringing about this change will be the voice of the citizens themselves. Even though platforms should convey what a Candidate stands for, they never really can as people tend to repeat former platforms. If I, Ruben Dario Vargas, was to have the honor of being your New York City Council,
your partner for change, my decision making process would be based solely on what is needed for a better quality of life for all, without exceptions.
To have a better future requires a more productive present, and once the potential and unique intelligence of every person in this community becomes one, nothing less than outstanding will be accomplished for this district. I hope to earn your vote by September 10, 2013 for New York City Council, District 7, in order to willingly provide every person of good will with a deserving future.
